First Phase Of Jury Selection Completed In Zimmerman Trial (Live Updates)

The first phase of jury selection in the trial of George Zimmerman concluded Tuesday with 40 prospective jurors cleared for further questioning in the high-profile second-degree murder trial.

Among the 40 jurors who have made it this far, 24 are women and 16 are men. Twenty-seven are white, seven are African-American, three are mixed race and three are Hispanic. The pool skews toward middle-aged candidates.

BERLIN -- President Barack Obama will renew his call Wednesday to reduce the world's nuclear stockpiles, including a proposed one-third reduction in U.S. and Russian arsenals, the White House said.

Obama will make his case during a speech at Berlin's iconic Brandenburg Gate. His address comes nearly 50 years after John F. Kennedy's famous Cold War speech in this once-divided city.

Lil Wayne Pulls Controversial Flag Stomp From Video

NEW YORK — Lil Wayne says he wasn't intentionally stepping on the American flag when shooting his latest video.

Video of the rapper from his music video shoot for the song "God Bless Amerika" hit the Web on Monday. In it, he appears to be stepping on top of the American flag. But he said in a Facebook post Tuesday the flag on the ground will not appear in the clip.

He writes it was never his intention "to desecrate the flag of the United States of America."

He says the flag will reveal a group of people behind him in the video.

Report Highlights Climate-Poverty Link

STOCKHOLM (AP) — The World Bank says it will increasingly view its efforts to help developing countries fight poverty through a "climate lens."

In a report released Wednesday, the international lending institution warned that heat waves, rising seas, more severe storms and other impacts of climate change will trap millions of people in poverty.

As a result, the Washington-based bank said it is stepping up support for efforts to curb climate change and to help the world adapt to it.
